HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)

The estimated number of persons living with HIV worldwide in 2007 was 33.2 million, a reduction of 16% compared to 2006. However, every day, over 6800 persons become infected with HIV and over 5700 persons die from AIDS. Global HIV incidence was estimated to be 2.5 million new infections in 2007 of which over two thirds (68%) occurred in sub-Saharan Africa. ImmunoFlow HIV 1 – HIV 2 is a unique rapid test for the detection and differentiation of antibodies specific to HIV 1 and HIV 2 in human serum.
